I have been teaching pre-k and kindergarten at Red Brick for 20 years. I am excited to be back teaching Pre-k which I previously taught at Red Brick and in Cincinnati. In addition to teaching, I am also the Director of the school, a position that I also held for 10 years in Cincinnati. Ellen Gordon, Education Coordinator (Pre-K Teacher)
I am the preschool teacher of the 4 day 4’s and the afternoon 5 day 4’s classes. I have been teaching at Red Brick for 20+ years. I have always loved working with small children since I began babysitting when I was 12. In middle school, I volunteered at Meeting Street School and in high school I did a senior placement in a preschool. I attended Lesley University and graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. I taught in East Providence for 12 years before taking time off to be with my two sons. Both of my children attended Red Brick and I loved the education they received there. Teaching at Red Brick is a wonderful experience. I have the ability to develop my own curriculum using the standards developed by the Department of Education and work with a group of talented teachers.
Wendy Iannarilli (Pre-K Teacher)
I have been at Red Brick School for 20+ years teaching 4 day pre k and previously teaching afternoon pre-k as well. I’ve been involved with the school for over 25 years as both my children attended pre-school and kindergarten at Red Brick. I absolutely love the school, love teaching, and feel fortunate to teach with such great people. It is an incredibly nurturing and unique environment. I work with Nancy Troiano and together we make a great team. I have my Masters in Education from Lesley University and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Vermont. Prior to Red Brick, I taught in Providence and also worked in the business world.
Amy Silvia ( 3’s Teacher)
I have been working at Red Brick School in different roles for the last 10+years. I have been part of the enrichment program (cooking, science, and bookworms) throughout this time and spent 2 of those years as an afternoon 3’s teacher. I am excited now to be teaching the 4 day 3’s morning program! The teachers and staff here are dedicated to creating a fun, healthy, and supportive environment in which to learn and work. I am assisted by Miss Cheryl and we focus our daily curriculum on a letter of the week with thematic activities and literature based learning. I have my B.A. and Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Boston College.
Pat Senville (3’s Teacher )
I am the morning 2 day 3’s teacher and have worked with this age group at Red Brick for 20 + years! While I delight in teaching the youngest Red Brick students, I have also sought balance through working with the kindergarten class in the extended day program. While growing up I always wanted to be a teacher but when there no jobs available in teaching I was guided to an alternate profession. My background is in Psychiatric Nursing and I have a B.S. in Nursing from University of Rhode Island with 12 credits in Early Childhood Education. In addition, I have completed my level 2 certification for the Rhode Island Early Learning Standards.
Colleen Coughlin (3’s Teacher)
Colleen Coughlin has a degree in Music Education from Providence College, and a Master’s in Education from Lesley University in Early Childhood education and creative arts and learning. She is certified through the Rhode Island Department of Education in both music and early childhood education. She has taught music in many capacities over the past 20 years as a public-school music teacher, private lesson instructor, Music Together teacher and Early childhood music specialist. She loves working with all age groups but finds preschool and kindergarten ages to be the most magical. Colleen has taught preschool and worked as an academic interventionist and STEAM teacher in the public schools previously and is very excited to be working with the three-year-olds this year and continuing her work as a music teacher at Red Brick School. Colleen loves to learn new things and find wonder in the world around her, just like her students do! She and her husband live in town and have three daughters and a very energetic dog named Lucy.
